We at Comeandsee Global Sdn Bhd (“CAS”, “we” “us” “our”) are very determined when it comes to fulfilling our obligations under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (the “PDPA”). We recognise the responsibility of being entrusted with your personal data and the importance of its protection and correct handling not only to abide by law but to acquire your trust.

1 INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF THE POLICY

“Personal data” refers to “data, whether true or not, about an individual who can be identified from that data; or from that data and other information to which the organisation has or is likely to have access.” (Personal Data Protection Commission, Singapore). This can include your name, address, medical records and photographic images.

This policy will detail how the personal data which you provide us is collected, how it is used or disclosed, and how it will be managed and protected. We hope this will guide you in making an informed decision making choosing to share with us your personal data. All our processes will be done in accordance with the rules and regulations set out in the PDPA.

Your personal data is collected and retained in the following ways:

a. through your logins as a registered user of the website;

b. through the profile-building feature of the website; and

c. through the information you present to us by whatever channels of communication, such as email exchanges.

In using the website and its services, you have given us permission to collect such data so that we may effectively provide our services to you. 

3 USE AND STORAGE OF PERSONAL DATA

The personal data which is collected from you may be used for the following purposes, including without limitation:

a) to deliver the full capabilities of the services of the website to you;

b) to enable direct communication, such as responding to enquiries;

c) to guide the improvements of quality and contents of our services; and 

d) to support the functions of CAS including, but not restricted to, internal accounts, administrative purposes and research works.

All collected electronic personal data is stored with safe and reliable PCI compliant cloud hosting, and is kept secure and encrypted through the website’s SSL certification.

4 DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA

CAS is aware of the responsibility it holds in keeping the confidentiality of the personal data that you give to us. 

The data that we collect may be shared within the company and with other agencies and statutory boards where such disclosure is necessary for providing our services to you more effectively and only if it is within the confines of the law. 

Data collected through the website may be processed through our own offices in Brunei Darussalam, and as such will undertake appropriate due diligence to comply with the Transfer Limitation Obligation set out in the PDPA. 

We will not share your personal data to third parties without express consent other than in certain situations including, but not limited to, the following:

a) the third party is a provider of a service that directly correlates to a service that we provide to you, including, without limitation, payment processing, content hosting and email delivery. Nevertheless, they will only be disclosed no more than the certain information necessary to provide the service or what is required based on the applicable laws; 

b) the third party performs part of the services that we provide to you which requires your personal data; 

c) where the disclosure is necessary by law for any investigative purposes or proceedings by a law enforcement agency; 

d) the personal data is shared with a public agency where it is necessary in the cause of public interest; and 

e) where it is necessary for the enforcement of our Terms of Use, to safeguard the safety and rights of our users and third parties, as well as to protect our property and rights. 

In other instances where the disclosure of your personal data to third parties require your express consent, we will inform you how the data may be used and provide necessary measures to ensure the proper handling and administration of your personal data in compliance with the rules and regulations set out in the PDPA.

 

5 REQUESTS FOR ACCESS, CORRECTION AND/OR WITHDRAWAL OF PERSONAL DATA

You may request to have access to your personal data, have it corrected or withdrawn from our collection, use and/or disclosure at any time by sending in your request through the following channels:

We will process your request for access to your personal data within a reasonable time from when it was received. 

Where the action can only be reasonably done with our intervention, we will process your request for a correction of personal data within a reasonable time from when it was received. We will send the corrected personal data to third party organisations to which it was disclosed within a year before the date of correction was made, unless it is not necessary for the organisation to have the corrected data for any legal or business purpose. 

We will process your request for a withdrawal of consent the collection, use and/or disclosure of personal data within a reasonable time from when it was received. Be informed that this may have an adverse outcome to your use of the CAS website or your relationship to us. We will cease collecting, using and/or disclosing the personal data, unless such actions, as the case may be, without the consent of the individual is required or authorised under the PDPA or other written laws.  

6 STATISTICAL DATA

We may make use of your personal data and additional data to create statistical information for the purpose of analysis and improving our services. The resulting information in these reports shall include only non-personally identifiable data. These statistics may be shared with third parties. 

7 WEBSITE COOKIES

Your use of the website may result in the placing of cookies and the access of certain cookies on your computer and/or any other device used to access the website. The cookies are used to improve your experience of using our services.

In providing our services to you, links to external websites may also be included. We have no authority on the privacy policy procedures and regulations of these entities and therefore accept no responsibility or liability for any unlawful practices or loss arising from the use of the external websites. This policy does not extend beyond your use of the CAS website. External websites are subject to their own data protection and privacy practices and you are advised to read through the privacy policy or similar statements of the third party websites before using them. 

9 UPDATES ON THE PRIVACY POLICY

This policy may undergo changes from time to time to ensure its continued compliance to the law and other concerns with management and protection of personal data. The amendments made to the terms of this policy may be done at our sole discretion, therefore we advise users to return periodically to this page for any changes to the policy. Your continued use of this website and its services after these updates have been made shall imply that you are aware of the amendments to this policy and therefore shall constitute your deemed acknowledgment and acceptance of the updates.
